Exercise and diabetes

In fact, it can be said quite simply. Exercise is simply good, and more exercise is even better.
And if you put your exercise into a system, follow a programme, preferably with others and with a supervisor on the line, then you will get the most benefit from your efforts.
It is not something we believe or something we just think, for it has been tried and tested in many studies. We know by now how much exercise is needed and what works, for example, having a supervisor on hand.
If you have diabetes, you can also enjoy the fact that in many ways exercise works better on you than on others. You get more bang for your buck.
What you get back when you exercise is about quality of life, better control of your diabetes, better balance and movement. So there are advantages everywhere.
And luckily, the same exercise that works on diabetes also works on other illnesses.
Exercising with diabetes requires a little extra thought. For example, your blood sugar should be between eight and fifteen when you start, and of course you should keep an eye on it so that it does not get too low during or after exercising.
Speak with your diabetes nurse or doctor if you are in doubt.
If you have reduced sensation in your feet, you should not strain them while exercising. This is how you avoid sores and other injuries.
And if you have any doubts about whether or not there is something wrong with your heart, speak with your doctor.
The most difficult part is probably getting started. And perhaps staying with it the first few times until it becomes a habit. A habit which you do not want to put down again.
Use the municipal options. Join a club, form a team. Put exercise in a system in a way so that you stay motivated and become better and better at finding the right exercises for you.
