What it is like having PTSD?

If I were to explain what PTSD is like, it is like there is a film running in your head all the time. You experience the accident over and over and over again, all the while seeing the accident constantly while you sleep, so you don’t sleep much. If there is a car that brakes, then I panic. If there is someone in the shopping centre that screams, then I panic.
When you have PTSC, you become a control freak, crazy. Sitting next to Pia when she is driving is not fun. Or places where there are many people, where others decide can also be difficult. Some days are really good, other days you are just down in a big, black hole.
Finally, you fall with a crash, because you cannot take any more. Then everything comes undone. Then you cannot manage anything by yourself anymore.
I have learned some things that I can do. For example, there is something with breathing, something with doing some exercises. It is about trying to focus on something else. So it has been a long struggle getting to where I am today. It is not something you do in a day.
You are up against very, very difficult odds.
