Now we will start the exercise “stand up/sit down”.
You will start by positioning your feet at the same distance as your hip joints.
In a moment, I will ask you to stand up and then sit down again – in a calm and easy speed. Give it a try.
The important thing with this exercise are the straight lines, this means that your hips, knee and foot stay in a straight line.
It is also important that it is the muscles in your legs which do the work. This means that you should take care when sitting down and not just flop down.
So, same speed up, same speed down.
Repeat this ten times, take a short break and then do ten again, but focusing on the straight lines the entire time.
If it is too difficult to stand up without using your hands, then it is okay to support yourself on an armrest and then get up.
But if you can do the exercise without supporting yourself, then you should do this.
