When you take several different kinds of medication, there may be a risk that they weaken, amplify or cancel the effect of one another. And there is this risk regardless of whether you are taking prescription medicine, non-prescription medicine or natural remedies at the same time.
Your doctor is only aware of the medicine which you have received from your doctor, that is what is on your medicine card. This is why it is important that you inform your doctor if you are taking non-prescription medicine and natural remedies so that your doctor can ensure that the medicine which you take has the desired effect.
You may also experience that some of the medicine which you take must be taken at different times. You must be aware that certain types of food and drink may also influence the effect of the medicine which you are taking.
If you have any doubts about how you should take your medication correctly, then ask your doctor or pharmacist. Both your doctor and pharmacist can guide you in how you avoid undesired reactions when different types of medicines are mixed.
