The surgeon will always plan the operation so that your legs are the same length after surgery.

In 9 out of 10 cases, the leg difference after surgery is less than 1 cm. This will often not be felt after some time.

As a rule, there may be a small difference in leg length even if one hasn't had hip surgery.

If you are unfortunate enough to have suffered major leg length difference after surgery, this can usually be compensated for with a shoe insert.

Sometimes it may be necessary for the surgeon to make your leg a little bit too long, to ensure that the artificial hip will be as stable as possible.
