I couldn't do the things I used to be able to do at work - Hans Jørgen Pommergaard (62 years) has had one knee and two hip replacements.

At work, I also had problems because I couldn't do the things that I used to do before.

Times have also changed, where you might have gone out on assignments and you possibly needed to fight people.

While I had no problems with it in the past, I suddenly had to think about it.

If I got flung to the floor and struggled about, I might not be able to get up again.

I would again be the weak one, while I would like to be the strong one at all times.

That's where my workplace is great, where they say: "Well, then you need to go and sit somewhere where it's not that rough."

Where I'd previously been part of the flying squad, I became a local police officer in Stege, where I work.

I sit there and tend to interrogations and for example call people in.

So my workplace accepted that I couldn't do what I was supposed to do, and was very fair in giving me a different job.

After the operation I could go back a bit again and feel on top of things.
