The pain caused me to no longer be able to do the things I wanted to do - Gerda Petersen (78 years) has a new hip, which has dislocated three times.

I was in pain for a few years before I got a new hip. I could still do the same things, but it hurt and the things I wanted to do went slowly. I could no longer look after my garden properly, in the way I think it should be looked after. I could no longer take care of the house, in the way it should be done, and I couldn't walk very far with the dog.

I couldn't shop, but that's Finn's job. There were many factors which finally made me decide to go to the doctor. That's what I would rather not do, but I did it and then it did go pretty fast. It also has something to do with patience, because I felt that it took a long time from going to the doctor, to have x-rays, and then get notified etc. It can easily take three weeks between each time, and my patience can't take that.

The pain felt really annoying because I couldn't do the things I wanted to do. It hurt all the time, and sometimes I slept in a chair because it hurt so much. It was better than my bed, and that's how it was. But I needed a new hip - it was good that he finally got me to go to the doctor.
